12.00.00am GMT Wed 5th Nov 2008

Sue Doughty, Guildford's Lib Dem Parliamentary Candidate took Norman Lamb MP back to his old school in Guildford, George Abbot, last week.

Norman, who is Lib Dem Shadow Secretary of State for Health attended George Abbot Boys' School in the days when the school operated as two different sites with separate schools for girls and boys.

Norman and Sue spent time touring the school and the changes which have taken place since, and meeting staff and students before heading off for a briefing at the Royal Surrey County Hospital.

Norman said "It has been fantastic to see how my old school has come along. The school produces brilliant results, and its work with special needs students is exemplary."

On the day when Barack Obama became President elect, Sue and Norman were particularly delighted to meet one student with dual nationality who had voted in the US elections.
