Guildford Liberal Democrats: The positive choice for Guildford

Lib Dems celebrate relaunch of shuttle bus

12.00.00am GMT Sat 10th Jan 2009

Sue Doughty and her Lib Dem colleagues have welcomed the return of the shuttle bus to Guildford.

After months of uncertainty and campaigning Sue Doughty, together with Councillors Tony Phillips and Fiona White joined in the celebrations at Guildford's bus station. "Its great that the bus is back" said Sue, "although it was a very bad decision to have taken it away and replaced it with the Town Rider".

The bus will run initially for limited hours but the operators, Safeguard hope to see its hours extended.

The service was originally removed when Guildford Borough Council decided to replace the service with the Town Rider, which would have needed pre booking, and which would have charged bus pass users as well as other passengers.
