DIANA WALLIS MEP CALLS FOR BETTER EU TRAINING FOR NATIONAL JUDGES

Surrey County Council should accept the decision and not waste money on disputing Ofsted's findings

Surrey's shocking one start rating is a wake up call to start getting things right" said Sue Doughty in response to today's report that Surrey has now become a one star council.

"It is appalling that rather than accept the referee's decision Surrey will be wasting our money on disputing the findings of Ofsted through an expensive judicial review. There is far too much work to do to put things right and to really give our social workers all the help and support they need to look after our children and to really invest wisely in improvements.

"To go to a judicial review to try to get the results changed with local elections only three months away tells its own story" she added.

"Families in Surrey should be confident in knowing that they have a three star service which nurtures and protects the most vulnerable in our society. This adds further to the increasing evidence of the reality of government under the Tories."
