Guildford Liberal Democrats: The positive choice for Guildford

At last the PCT are on the right lines says Sue

Welcoming the news that the PCT will commission beds in Cranleigh, Sue said "This is a real victory for local people. We have long said that some people must have care close to their own homes and community, for example those who need palliative care or non acute nursing to build them up". What is now important is that we have an agreed plan for Cranleigh which is resilient and can deliver in both the long term and the short term.

At last the PCT has drawn the obvious conclusion that beds are needed in Mildford and Cranleigh

The announcement also confirmed plans to use Milford Hospital as the link hospital to the Royal Surrey in providing ongoing specialist rehabilitation services.

This is an excellent plan, but one wonders just why it took the PCT and its predecessor Guildford and Waverley so long, and so much money to work out the obvious.
