Guildford Liberal Democrats: The positive choice for Guildford

"We must not build on Guildford's green belt"

9.45.04am BST (GMT +0100) Tue 22nd Sep 2009

Speaking at the Lib Dem conference Sue gave strong support to the party's policy to ban building on green belt. She called for the scrapping of the South East plan which threatens so much of the local country side. An amendment which gave strong support to urban green spaces also was warmly supported by Sue. With pressure for building land in Guildford it is vital that we protect sites such as the allotments and open spaces around Westborough and Broadacres. She also drew attention to the need for more allotments and community gardens which are especially important in communities with small or no gardens.

The wide ranging policy paper now makes the Liberal Democrats the most green of all the parties.
