Guildford Liberal Democrats Champion a Greener Future at Guildford Green Day
Guildford Green Day 2025 is arriving on Sunday the 8th of June, which will be a vibrant, free, family-friendly celebration of climate action and community sustainability, from 11:00am to 4:00pm.
Organised by Lib Dem-led Guildford Borough Council this annual event, now in its second year, is part of the nationwide Great Big Green Week and reflects our ongoing commitment to building a greener, fairer future for Guildford.
A Day of Green Inspiration
Taking over Guildford High Street. This exciting event will feature:
- 🌱 Plant-based and eco-friendly market stalls
- 🌿 Hands-on workshops and sustainability talks
- 🌳 Free tree seeds to take home and grow
- 🎲 Family games and activities designed to inspire our young environmental champions

Working Toward Carbon Neutrality by 2030
Under Lib-Dem leadership, Guildford Borough Council has set an ambitious goal to become carbon neutral by 2030. Events like Guildford Green Day highlight practical steps residents and businesses can take to contribute to this target.
Cllr George Potter, Lib-Dem Executive Member for Environment and Climate Change said:
“Liberal Democrats put tackling climate change at the heart of our local agenda with our May 2023 election manifesto promising a Greener, Fairer, Thriving Guildford. Guildford Green Day shows how together we can take practical action to protect our environment, support green jobs and create a more sustainable borough.”
